POSITION: Weight Loss Counselor
REPORTS TO: Supervisor
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
  • Knowledge of computers and relevant software applications
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Word and Excel)

GENERAL PURPOSE: To use their expertise to help patients achieve their health goals and lead a healthier lifestyle. The candidate must possess knowledge of nutrition and demonstrate the ability to coach others on lifestyle changes and behavior modification.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Use a multi-line phone system to answer and appropriately route all incoming calls.
  • Conducts follow up calls to patients to discuss the patient’s progress and address any concerns.
  • Refers non-routine, sensitive and/or complex requests for information and other inquiries or complaints to the appropriate staff member.
  • Ensure that each patient receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every patient, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other aspects of customer service.
  • Assist with daily monitoring of inventory levels of all clinical and office supplies.
  • Participates in clinic marketing efforts and provides ongoing support to promote clinic profitability and success.
  • Answer questions regarding any concerns they have ensuring healthy lifestyle.
  • Organizing schedule for patients.
  • Selling weight loss products to patients.
  • Must have the ability to connect with people, feel empathy and be able to motivate people to continue with their goals.
  • Meet with clients weekly to review progress and encourage to continue the program.
  • Offer support, advice, and assistance.

ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Use a multi-line phone system to answer and appropriately route all incoming calls.
  • Conducts follow up calls to patients to discuss the patient’s progress and address any concerns.
  • Refers non-routine, sensitive and/or complex requests for information and other inquiries or complaints to the appropriate staff member.
  • Uses the EMR to check in/out all patient visits.
  • Ensure that each patient receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every patient, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other aspects of customer service.
  • Process accounts receivable transactions.
  • Accurately and securely maintain all financials for services rendered and products sold.
  • Conducts follow up calls to patients to discuss the patient’s progress and address any concerns.
  • Assists with all administrative duties including, but not limited to, answering telephones, scheduling patients, and filing medical records.
  • Assist with daily monitoring of inventory levels of all clinical and office supplies.
  • Trains additional staff on daily procedures when requested by the office manager and/or physician.
  • Participates in clinic marketing efforts and provides ongoing support to promote clinic profitability and success.

REQUIRED FUNCTIONS:

  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
  • Walking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks (i.e. – going into patient rooms).
  • Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
  • Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
