Vibradermabrasion

Esthetic Services

Vibradermabrasion is a mechanical exfoliating treatment for the outer layer of skin and an improvement upon traditional crystal microdermabrasion. Our trained estheticians employ textured paddles that vibrate at a very high speed to dislodge the topmost skin cells. This treatment is used to address mild acne scarring, uneven pigmentation, poor skin texture, fine lines and dull skin. Vibradermabrasion delivers the same results as microdermabrasion but with less abrasion to the skin.

What Happens During a Vibradermabrasion Treatment?

Notably vibradermabrasion, when performed exclusively, allows for the application of topical antioxidants and other skin care therapeutics during the course of treatment. When skin is freshly exfoliated, topical active ingredients tend to penetrate more effectively and deeper into the skin. At Contour Dermatology we take advantage of this extreme infusion opportunity and typically perform vibradermabrasion with the infusion of either green tea or a vitamin C serum.

Whereas the crystals used in microdermabrasion often leave skin irritated or inflamed and in some cases even lead to tiny broken capillaries or spider veins, vibradermabrasion has none of these negative side effects. Safe for all skin types, vibradermabrasion can be performed as an exclusive procedure or combined with other treatments. For example, many patients opt for vibradermabrasion after a chemical peel.

When added onto a facial it’s generally considered to be the exfoliation portion of the treatment. Vibradermabrasion is a truly rejuvenative exfoliating treatment that sloughs off dead skin cells and uncovers fresh healthy skin. Over time it can lead to increased cell turnover and collagen growth.
