David W. Powell, M.D., is a board‑certified dermatologist with more than 23 years of experience caring for patients in Texas and Louisiana. He earned his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in 1993, then went on to complete his Internal Medicine training at Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia.

Dr. Powell later trained at the Naval Aerospace Medicine Institute in Pensacola, Florida, and spent four years on active duty as a United States Naval Flight Surgeon, serving in Texas and overseas. After completing his military service, he returned to New Orleans to finish his dermatology residency at Tulane University Medical Center and the historic Charity Hospital—bringing together world‑class training, real‑world experience, and a down‑to‑earth approach patients appreciate.
