Can’t lose those stubborn extra pounds?

Semaglutide could be the answer.

You’ve been trying to lose the same 20-40 pounds for years, to no avail. It seems like your “set weight” is set in stone. Now, there’s a drug that can help you finally shed those extra pounds, hopefully for good. It’s called Semaglutide.

Lower Blood Sugar with Weight Loss Benefit

This injectable medication was originally formulated for the treatment of Type 2 diabetes. Semaglutide mimics the hormone GLP-1, which is secreted in the gut as a response to eating. It helps control type 2 diabetes in two important ways:

  1. Prompting the body to make more insulin, which lowers blood sugar.
  2. Acting as an appetite suppressant by sending signals to the brain that cause you to “feel full.”

People who go on Semaglutide to treat their type 2 diabetes tend to lose weight – not a bad side effect for most of us. Better yet, research has shown that the drug has the same effect on those who don’t have diabetes.

Semaglutide’s Efficacy in Promoting Weight Loss

A number of studies have confirmed the efficacy of Semaglutide for weight loss. In one such study, 2,000 obese adults were put on the same diet and exercise regimen. One group supplemented their weight loss program with Semaglutide, while the other group did not. 68 weeks after the start of the study, participants on lifestyle changes alone had lost 2.4% of their body weight. Those taking Semaglutide had much better results: half lost 15% of their body weight, and nearly a third lost 20%.*

Used in conjunction with diet and exercise, Semaglutide can help you lose weight and even reduce your risk of cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. However, the drug is not a standalone solution. Studies have shown that unless people maintain their exercise program and eat healthily, they tend to regain the weight they have lost once they stop taking Semaglutide. You should think of this medication as a way to kick start and accelerate weight loss, but you’ll need to remain diligent about working out and proper nutrition after you stop taking the drug.

Contour’s Semaglutide Weight Loss Program

At Contour, we provide our Semaglutide clients with guidance and oversight. Your first appointment will be with a specially trained Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant. During this 30 minute initial visit, you will be prescribed lab** work to help us get a baseline on your general health and determine whether you are a good candidate. (Note: Please read the lab work terms below.** If you have recent lab** work, we can review that during this session.) You will be asked about your weight loss goals, medical history, and conditions that might preclude you from using Semaglutide. You’ll also be briefed about potential side effects of the drug and get recommendations for lifestyle and dietary changes to get the most out of your treatment.

Once your treatment is approved, we will set a regular 15 minute injection appointment for the same day and time each week. You will also check in for a consultation at one month and three months. Depending on how you are doing, you may be scheduled for another set of labs.** The most common treatment duration is around six months.

Who is NOT a good candidate for Semaglutide

When your adviser takes your medical history, he or she will discuss potential side effects and adverse events. Semaglutide is not indicated for people with certain conditions. If you are not a good candidate for the drug, we will let you know in your initial consultation.

** The Skinny Shot Terms - Please Read Carefully

** Insurance covers Semaglutide as a diabetes medication only. People who wish to use the drug to lose weight must pay out-of-pocket for the treatments and the lab work. Please consult your health insurance provider for more information on coverage. We are unable to do this for you. We use a generic version of the drug to help keep the price as low as possible.
