Breast Augmentation
Dr. Kameron s. Rezzadeh
Breast augmentation is one of the most frequently performed cosmetic surgery procedures in the U.S. today.
Tailored Procedure for Each Woman's Needs
Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Kameron S. Rezzadeh brings his unique skill set to Contour Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery Center, tailoring procedures to fit each woman’s needs. Women with small or unevenly sized breasts can achieve a fuller, firmer and better-proportioned appearance through the placement of saline or silicone implants.
Determining the Correct Approach is Key to Success
Determining the right approach takes time and Dr. Rezzadeh is careful to learn what each patient hopes to gain once they choose to undergo breast augmentation surgery. Since implant types and implant placement options vary, this is an important part of the process.
What Happens During Breast Augmentation Surgery?
Breast implants are silicone shells filled with either saline (salt water) or silicone gel. During surgery, Dr. Rezzadeh makes an incision and creates a pocket where he inserts the implants behind each breast, either behind the existing breast tissue (subglandular placement) or behind the pectoral muscle, aka the chest wall (submuscular placement). Incision sites can vary but are usually made in inconspicuous places on the breast to minimize scar visibility.
How Long is the Procedure?
The breast augmentation procedure itself lasts approximately two hours and is typically performed under general anesthesia. Patients then spend about two hours in recovery before going home.
The healing Process.
Moderate discomfort can be expected during the first two days following a breast augmentation procedure but many patients return to work within the week. However, they should refrain from strenuous activity until any swelling and sensitivity subsides. Once the healing process is over, patients can resume an active lifestyle without restrictions, confident in their new look.
