Liposuction - Lipoplasty
Dr. Kameron s. Rezzadeh
Sometimes, despite steadfast diet and exercise, stubborn pockets of fat continue to cling to certain areas of the body.
What is Liposuction, aka Lipoplasty
Liposuction is a proven and effective way to help resolve this problem. Also called lipoplasty or “lipo” for short, liposuction is the direct removal of fat through small incisions in the skin. It is a contouring procedure for specific targeted areas and should not be considered a weight loss tool.
Shape Your Body, Get a New Look*
Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Kameron S. Rezzadeh performs liposuction procedures at Contour Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery Center, assisting individuals who are at or close to their ideal weight but need just a little extra help to achieve their ideal body contour. Areas that can be addressed include the waist and abdomen, buttocks and hips, inner and outer thighs, calves and ankles, back, upper arms, neck and under the chin.
Pairing Will Produce Fabulous Results
Liposuction is frequently paired with other popular plastic surgery procedures such as a tummy tuck, breast reductions or a facelift, but it can be performed for the sole purpose of removing targeted areas of fat. Once a small incision is made at the site or sites, Dr. Rezzadeh inserts a cannula, or thin hollow tube which is then moved gently back and forth to loosen targeted fat. Thus prepared, the fat is suctioned out of the body using a surgical vacuum. Incisions are sealed and an elastic compression garment is then worn to help the skin contract and heal.
Downtime & Aftercare
After a liposuction procedure, inflammation, bruising, numbness and some pain can be expected. The recovery process differs for each individual. The majority can return to work within three to five days although strenuous exercise should be avoided for about a month. As swelling fades, patients will begin to see their body’s new contours emerge. By maintaining a steady weight and solid fitness habits, results from liposuction can be long-lasting.
