Desert Cancer Foundation is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to helping Coachella Valley residents in need of financial assistance pay for cancer care. It was founded in 1994 with the vision that no one should forgo life-saving treatment due to their inability to pay. DCF remains the only nonprofit organization that makes direct payments to local medical providers, on behalf of residents who otherwise could not afford or access vital care.
Desert Cancer Foundation’s Patient Assistance Program provides financial support for cancer treatment for residents of the Coachella Valley and surrounding communities who require financial assistance. The program provides timely access to medical services for uninsured or underinsured individuals by covering the cost of insurance premiums, deductibles, co-pays, co-insurance, and Medi-Cal share of cost.
Since 2023, DCF paid $1.1 million to cover $12 m in total billings for cancer-related care. $1 Translates to over $10 in cancer care. For over 30 years, DCF has met the demands of certain gaps in healthcare coverage with 9,050+ residents served, $121 Million+ in cancer treatments, and $350,000+ annually in healthcare costs serving over 160 residents, 100% DONOR FUNDED!
