The Boys & Girls Club of Palm Springs has served local youth for over 75 years by enabling and inspiring young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. The club is designed to build confidence by offering facilities, equipment, and instruction for learning while acting as a safe haven that deters members from dangerous situations by providing constructive alternatives that develop strong values and encourage good choices to help put these kids on a positive path in life.
Children at Old Town Artisan Studios (OTAS) wearing red aprons participate in a pottery class, shaping clay on spinning pottery wheels with focused expressions.
Printmaking activity with guidance, carefully rolling out clay to create a unique and artistic design.
The Boys & Girls Club of Palm Springs is located in Sunrise Park and within walking distance from the Palm Springs High School. Transportation to the Club is offered at local elementary and middle schools via school buses. It is the largest after-school program provider in the City of Palm Springs, serving more than 1700 young people annually.
Designed for second to eighth-graders, the Children’s Center has areas for homework, arts & crafts, dance & performing arts, a learning lab, a reading room, a basketball gymnasium, and a cafeteria for daily healthy snacks and meals. The center is supervised, and parents, adults, and guests must check in at the front desk. The teen center for high school teens has an open floor plan with a pool table, vinyl listening station, table tennis, designated homework areas, and a snack bar. Movies and e-sports programs are also offered.
The organization’s vision is to provide a club experience that demonstrates success is within reach of every young person. Summer is around the corner, and with schools closed, the club stays open all day, serving as a vital resource for families. Enrollment numbers soar, and the club doubles staffing and programming to meet the demand. The goal is to provide fun activities like swimming, cooking, field trips, and camps at the amazing Pathfinder Ranch, creating a memorable summer vacation experience.
