Fall Calls for Moisture for Your Dry Skin

First thing’s first.  We all love those nice fruity summer gel washes. Most summer skin washes dry out our skin purposely to prevent an “oily” summer look. However, fall calls for moisture. Your skin will need help keeping itself properly hydrated with the temperature drops. Use washes that include hydrating ingredients like pumpkin or oatmeal. If using a body scrub, opt for more oil based scrubs that exfoliate without removing the essential oils you need to keep your skin hydrated.

Some of our favorite creamy washes are SkinMedica’s sensitive skin cleanser and Obagi’s Gentle cleanser. Both washes are formulated for sensitive skin and give your skin a nice smooth feeling.

Start using creams instead of lotions. Creams have a richer thicker consistency and give us that needed barrier to maintain moisture.

Our favorite Cream of ALL TIME is  SkinMedica’s Dermal repair. This product is  rich and full of antioxidants that can help maintain your skin hydrated and refreshed thorought  the season

Don’t forget your sunscreen. Although the temperature has dropped the risk for sun damage has not. If anything we can even assume that your skin can actually get more damaged in cooler temperatures since you can tolerate the outdoors more.

Make sure your lips are sealed. Yes “Sealed”. Use petroleum based lip balm that will seal in moisture and prevent drying or cracking.
