To Keep You Breakout Free

Did you know that there’s an easy way to prevent most of your skin care woes! Yup just one thing you need to do right to make sure your skin gets a fair chance. All you have to do is wash your face! Yes, wash your face, but wash it right.

Read These 8 Face Washing Tips

  1. Products: Cleans efficiently two rounds of washing is too much on your face. Avoid extra harsh washes that leave your skin red or irritated
  2. How often: Usually you only need to wash your face once a day to remove all the dirt and grime from throughout the day. Washing your face more than that can stimulate excess oil production as your face attempts to moisturize itself.
  3. Wash thoroughly. Just because we say take it easy on the scrubbing doesn’t mean we want any soapy residue left on your skin. Don’t forget to rinse off your jawline and nose, we often forget to ensure these are well rinsed and end up leaving some residue causing buildup and breakouts.
  4. Water temperature: Hot water opens up pores. Cold water closes them. When starting your face wash, use warm water to open up pores so the dirt and grime can be properly washed off. When face is cleansed off all facial cleanser use a bit of cold water to seal in the freshness and avoid new dirt and grime from penetrating your pores.
  5. Exfoliate moderately. Exfoliation should NOT be an everyday routine. Exfoliate maybe once or twice a week and no more than 3 times a week ever.
  6. Smell good: Just because it smells good doesn’t mean it’s good for your skin. Avoid face washes and moisturizers with powerful scents, the perfumes in these types of products can cause irritation.
  7. Dry your face. Don’t rub your face when you finish washing. Pat your skin dry to prevent tugging. This habitual tug can lead to premature aging and ruin elastin fibers.  Use a specific FACE towel to dry with, preferably a fresh clean one to avoid putting nay old bacteria on your clean skin.
  8. When to moisturize? A lot of people think they should let face fully dry before applying their favorite serum or moisturizer.   If you let your skin dry all the way your products will not be able to penetrate well. This will lead to too much product on top of your skin making you feel gross and greasy.

Spend Your Money Wisely

Remember just because your cream cost a lot doesn’t mean it’s good. Some people are shelling out close to 1200 for a cream with bits of gold in it! Gold! Unfortunately gold isn’t going to do anything at all for your skin except irritate it, so why bother. Spend money on creams proven to work. Your local dermatologist can even write you a prescription for proven to work creams that can help your skins tone, texture, and appearance.
